Ziroli Corsair, 93 inch span, built by me some years ago and originally finished in a grey and green Royal Navy scheme with a Zenoah 62.
Refurbished and repainted a couple of years ago, and engine replaced with a Saito FG-90R3, which is perfect. I built it with detachable wings and tailplane as per the photos, and with removeable canopy and front coaming for easy access. It has Unitract pneumatic retracts which have been robust and reliable. The tailwheel retract is a Robart mechanical. The model weighs 36 pounds, and is quite lightly loaded for the large wing area. Servos are mainly Hitec, and there is a Futaba 6014 receiver with battery backer. I fly it with two 3300mAh 6v Nimh packs for the flight packs, and a 2200 2s Lipo for the ignition.
It is ready to go, without batteries, and the photos have only just been taken. I can send a video of the engine running. It hand starts very easily, and I have never used an electric starter on it. I run it on 20:1 mix.
Reason for sale – it is a big airframe, and fits in my estate car but does not leave much room for anything else. I have been offered a slightly smaller P47 with Saito FG-60R3, which will be slightly easier to load and unload.
