As some of you know, I’m trying to sell off my mates Aircraft bits since he died about 8 weeks ago.
We have had a bit of success, but we have found a box up in the loft which contains a Dave Smith Smart Move.
On opening the box, we find a fuselage 3/4 built, the tail is still just bits of wood to be assembled, plus the cowling and the canopy still in tissue along with all the hardware that comes with the model.
Which we thought were all positive’s, considering the price of replacement cowls and canopy’s these days.
The down side being the wings. All assembled and looked at one stage like they were ready to go.
But the veneer has cracked along the length and one end of the wing by the ailerons has broken off.
So here is the rub…. We are looking for someone to take this off our hands and build it / restore it, to what it was meant to be.
We are not looking for a fortune for it, just something to put in the kitty for his wife.
We are in the Weston super Mare area.
I can send pictures to anyone brave enough to give it a go. As in Bangers and cash we will leave all the dust that comes along with this garage find. I was struggling to get any pictures loaded on this site.
I would love to give this project a go myself, but at my age it’s not going to happen. Plus it’s too bloody fast me
these days.
