£350.00

RAMTEC ducted fan with an OS Max 91VR-DF two stroke engine with original boxes.
The engine tuned power pipe is 18” long, supplied new from Dynamax.
I purchased these new in 2014 for a project to renovate a 58” wingspan Albatros L-29.

The engine was originally run-in with BEKRA 10 using the (included) cut down 14” x 6” propeller.
The engine and ducted fan unit was installed in the plane and successfully run up to an incredible full engine speed of 23,000 rpm. However the project stalled due business commitments and has been left untouched ever since.
The OS 91VR-DF engine has now be stripped, inspected and new bearings fitted to the crankshaft,
Big end and gudgeon pin and piston showed hardly any signs of wear. The engine has not been run since the rebuild.
The 5” (127mm) diameter Ramtec ducted fan casing is complete with the 16 inlet guide vanes and an air pressure connection for alternative fuel pressurisation. The older fan has 11 blades but with a small nick on the leading edge of one of the blades ( see photo ). The new fan has 9 blades with a deeper chord and greater pitch designed to match the 11 blade fan. These fan units will provide at least 15 lbs of thrust at 23,000 rpm. Weight of fan casing unit & engine with pipe is 1411g.

Selling now due to change to electric model aircraft.
