Weird Issue
2 Weeks ago I had to put a brand new Super Air, vertical impact, having got it to a safe area.
Settings were copied from another including changes to Fail Safe by someone at Buckminster.
Seems that it did not like the fail safe being set at “Cut Throttle”. Took off perfect, throttle back, and all hell let loose. Acted like Fail Safe was kicking in when I throttled back. Safety kicked in so I made sure it was in a safe place, then let it go in almost perfectly vertical.
Moral. If you copy from another model, ensure you reset Fail Safe if not using FASST defaults, actually check TX fail Safe settings regardless.
I can not verify or retest as the receiver and throttle servo were destroyed, but the engine indicates that the throttle was at full open even though I shut it before impact. Servo not found, receiver split in 2.
Maybe some sort of conflict or I just had a bad day. Although when I checked the setting, Fail Safe changed throttle settings.
Given some TLC the Super Air will live again although the fus was destroyed to mid wing. and the wings returned to kit level ARTF. Most of the front is buried in a farmers crop field, 150mtrs from any risk.
Anyway just a heads up.
